SA Weddings Bride Of The Year 2014 - Competition Highlights

The past weekend saw twelve beautiful brides from all over South Africa flying down to sunny Cape Town for the crowning event of the 14th SA Weddings Bride of the Year competition. The grand finale, themed Sparkle & Shine, took place at the renowned The Bay Hotel, Camps Bay on 18 April 2015. The winner, Mrs. Vicky Louw, walked away with the prestigious title, a R20 000 cash prize and a holiday to Ambre, Mauritius worth R70 000 - courtesy of Air Mauritius and World Leisure Holidays!

SA Weddings Bride of the Year is an annual favourite in the South African wedding industry with thousands of brides entering the competition each year. This year’s main event unfolded at The Bay Hotel’s historic Rotunda, which was beautifully decorated by Grand Room Design. Hometown Productions set the scene with staging, lighting and sound – turning the venue into any bride’s dream day. The five celebrity judges were Roxy Louw, Tracey Lange, Calvin Petersen, Thoki Tafeni, and Juana Parathyras. Event guests included premium event sponsors, Cape Town media, celebrities and most importantly, the loved ones of our finalists. Upon arrival they were treated to thirst-quenching bubbly from Du Toitskloof Wines as well as a luscious Lanique and lime cocktail whilst Manouche filled the ambiance with gypsy jazz rhythms. Whilst our Top 12 strutted the catwalk with newlywed hubbies by their side, guests enjoyed a plated dinner by The Bay Hotel’s Chef de Cuisine, Warwick King, and wines from Rickety Bridge. The after party brought about even more fun as guests treated themselves to the delicious candy station created by Vibe Event Catering and the quirky photo booth by Retro Photo Booth. The entire event was elegantly photographed and videographed by VizionPhoto.

Our finalists were introduced to the audience by celebrity event MC, PeterG (PG), who was exceptional at entertaining the guests with everything from magic tricks to spandex sutis. PG also had the privilege of crowning the title winners:
